Aktualni svjetski prvak u formuli 1 Britanac Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) četvrtu je godinu zaredom pobijedio na utrci za Veliku nagradu Španjolske vožene na stazi Formula 1 Aramco Gran Premio de España, a do nje je stigao na dominantan način vodeći od prvog do posljednjeg metra. Hamilton je do svoje ukupno 88. pobjede u karijeri stigao s gotovo pola minute prednosti ispred drugog Nizozemca Maxa Verstappena (Red Bull), dok je treći ciljem prošao Finac Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) koje zaostao 45 sekundi za svojim momčadskim kolegom. Bottas je ponovno loše startao te je pao s druge na četvrtu poziciju, dok je Verstappen do drugog mjesta stigao prvenstveno zbog dobrog starta kada se probio s četvrtog na drugo mjesto. U ukupnom redoslijedu svjetskog prvenstva Hamilton je uvjerljivo vodeći sa 132 boda, Verstappen je drugi sa 95, a Bottas treći sa 89 bodova. Sljedeća utrka vozit će se za VN Belgije za 14 dana u Spa-Francorchamps za VN Belgije na stazi Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.
